What Makes This Site Different?
There are millions of blogs out there all saying the same thing, some of the big sites have an army of followers and it’s tough for any reader to know who they should be following.
Here I outline why any hobby website builder needs to follow this blog.
Technology, Software and Innovation
Sure, I want to create high traffic websites that make lots of dosh! Don’t we all! But unlike other people I have a different approach.
My real passion comes from building and designing the website. I don’t consider myself a businessman, a marketer or whatever – I am a traditional webmaster. Marketers will have you believing that their approach is the only way – of course they will, they are expert marketers!
I am interested in creating great sites whilst baking in all the important aspects of a successful website right from the start.
I like to seek out and get the best from the leading free website software packages out there (and occasionally commercial ones), I like to install the best plugins and if there isn’t a free one that meets my needs I’ll write one myself!
Professional turned Hobbyist
Most amateur webmasters dream of turning professional and making a living from their websites. Well, rather uniquely, I present a twist on the usual story you’ve heard time and time again.
I am actually a professional who has turned hobbiest.
I worked for one of the UK’s most successful .com companies for several year where I sat at the heart of the company working with teams focused on SEO, Marketing, PR, Product Specialists, etc.
I can now apply this professional experience to my own personal hobby projects.
The Original Enthusiast
I have a decent day job which I enjoy and provides a good living for myself and my family. I don’t need to push products down your neck each week.
Have a look at some of the blogging blogs out there and you’ll see that almost every post is geared towards selling you the only product that you need to succeed. You’ll know the feeling, each new post you read you take a step closer to making that purchase.
Sure, there are a couple of ads on this site and a few affiliate links, but I have no intention of selling you the latest “SEO Secrets” or “Money Making System”.
- My information and knowledge will be shared freely
- My plugins will be given away at no cost

I am Like You
My goal is to create good websites that people will chose to visit. I work full time and have a family. I have perhaps four or five hours a week to spend writing posts, coding new plugins, responding to emails and comments, participating in the forums, and keeping an eye on Wiki edits.
Given these limitations I have put my expertise into practise and now run a leading tech site, I’ve released plugins with 1000s of downloads and have brought in a welcome profit.
